At Sharp Tudhope we have been upholding legal excellence for over a century.
Generations of families and businesses have trusted us to act as their legal advocates for over 115 years, and as the world has changed, so have we. Our ability to continually grow and evolve is what sets us apart. It's our people driving this change. We are proud to have a team of professionals whose thinking is unrivalled and whose practices are constantly being renewed.
As a respected leader in our field we take our responsibility seriously and ensure that our lawyers are at the forefront of developments and best practice in their fields of expertise.
Today Sharp Tudhopes office is the first green star-rated building in this city, officially recognised for its environmentally sustainable design, benefitting the health and well-being of our staff and clients. We have been applauded for our business leadership and commitment to the community with this, and many other projects, but these traits are not new territory for us. We have been utilising the same principle of putting our clients' needs first ever since we started, and this is part of the ethos that underpins our success as Tauranga's most respected law firm.
We also play an active role in a variety of community organisations and charities, including:
Sharp Tudhope is proud to be Tauranga's oldest business. We first opened our doors in September 1896 when Henry Sharp set up his law practice in Spring Street. In 1911, Archie Tudhope, who operated nearby, joined Henry as a partner. It was a rather unusual move; the two got some bullocks and literally pulled Archie's office alongside Henry's - that's what you call a true merger. But we've made a couple of moves since then.
In 1979 we moved into premises in Grey Street which served us well for just over 30 years. Most recently, we have made the move to our new green star rated building on Devonport Road, the first of its kind in Tauranga.
Playing an active role in the economic development of our city has always been part of who we are.
