BUYING A HOUSE?

Looking to buy a house? Did you know that the Real Estate Agent MUST recommend you seek legal advice and give you a reasonable opportunity to obtain the advice before signing the Sale and Purchase Agreement?

The requirement for an agent to ensure you seek legal advice comes from an amendment to the Real Estate Agents Act (Professional Conduct and Client Care) Rules 2012 that came into play in April this year.

This requirement may leave you in a position where you need to seek legal advice in a hurry.

Our property lawyers and legal executives at Sharp Tudhope understand the time frames that real estate agents and their clients work to in order to get a deal together.

Hamish Murray has considerable experience in property law and the capacity to take on new clients. If you can't remember who your lawyer is; were dissatisfied with your lawyer the last time you used them; or have difficulty contacting your lawyer at short notice and wish to take urgent legal advice, give Hamish Murray a call on 928 0770 or email him at hamish.murray@sharptudhope.co.nz.
