John became a partner of Sharp Tudhope in 1981. Particular areas of expertise are company law, business sales and acquisitions, joint ventures and a wide variety of commercial work including complex commercial contracts. John is a former Chairman of Lawlink and a past member of the Lawlink Technology Committee. John is also a member of the Institute of Directors and the New Zealand Computer Society.
